MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2G 2GB Overclocking Results

With MSI Afterburner, we set the power and temperature limits to their maximum allowed values: 108 percent and 95°C respectively.

We ended up being able to add 170MHz to the core, taking it to 1,386MHz (1,449MHz boost). This is slightly higher than the Asus Strix GTX 960, which we got to 1,345MHz (1,417MHz boost). However, in terms of real world boosting, the results were even closer. The Asus card was boosting to a constant 1,518MHz, whereas this reached 1,524MHz with occassional jumps slightly higher. Either way this 14 percent overclock (23 percent over stock) is a fantastic result for MSI and more evidence of Maxwell's excellent overclockability.

The memory also played ball, and we got it to 7.8GHz effective, which is what we've seen from almost every other GTX 900 series card (they've all used the same Samsung memory chips) give or take 100MHz or so. It's an 11 percent overclock and another solid result.
